We are very pleased to introduce you to our new colleague Mona Kurppa who joined the Kjeller Vindteknikk team this autumn!

Mona has a PhD in atmospheric sciences from the University of Helsinki where she researched the role of urban planning on turbulence and the street-level air quality using large-eddy simulation (LES) modelling. Before joining Kjeller, she worked at the Finnish Meteorological Institute on, for instance, improving operational air quality modelling by exploiting open-source environmental data with machine learning.

Mona is part of the Finnish team located at the Espoo office.

What brought you to Kjeller Vindteknikk?

“I wanted to start working within the wind energy industry and apply my expertise in boundary layer meteorology and data analysis. Being a science-based consultancy, I am certain that Kjeller Vindteknikk is an ideal place for me to broaden my knowledge and to contribute to the renewable energy field.”

What are your expectations towards working at Kjeller Vindteknikk?

I have already experienced the excellent ambiance, drive and expertise within the staff. I am looking forward to work on many varying projects, from measurement installation to data analysis at different stages from pre-construction to post-construction.

Welcome to the team Mona!
