TowerLoads – Climatic loads for optimized mast and tower design
Tall structures such as telecommunication masts are subject to wind forces and, in cold climate, also icing. It is therefore essential to design a mast to withstand the expected extreme loads caused by wind and ice.
TowerLoads is an in-house tool that provides site specific assessment of climatic loads based on high resolution meteorological model data combined with available measurements. The loads are assessed in accordance with loads cases defined in the Eurocodes. The TowerLoads analysis helps optimize the design of masts and towers by providing site specific wind and ice loads and corresponding height and combination factors.
