Norconsult in joint venture with Dornier SuntraceGmbhis conducting a bankable feasibility study of the Chicamba FPV plant (covering technical, financial, ESIA and grid integration aspects). Additionally, pre-feasibility studies of FPV plants at threeother water bodiesarebeing conducted. Norconsult is also supporting the national utility EdMin assessing business models, attracting financing, preparing tender documents, and capacity building. The assignment is financed by the African Development Bank.

A utility-scale floating PV (FPV) plant on the Chicamba reservoir will be one of the largest FPV plants in Africa, the first of its kind in Mozambique, and an important contribution to Mozambique’s electrification targets.
