Solar data with high accuracy are needed to ensure bankable production estimates of a solar power plant. Models and remote measurements using satellites often lack sufficient accuracy, especially in the Nordics. For this purpose, Kjeller Vindteknikk performs solar measurement campaigns and will install during 2023 more than ten solar measurement stations for utility-scale solar in Norway, Sweden and Finland. The measurement stations may include global horizontal irradiance, plane of array, soiling and albedo measurements as well as wind and temperature. We tailor the measurement campaigns to account for the harsh Nordic conditions to ensure high quality data.
